In the UK from Oz for time with family, and not getting any younger. My dentures began splitting and I could see grief ahead. The women at The Hive took the matter in hand, I dropped the dentures off just after ten and picked them up fixed and good before midday. I've not come across any business recently, anywhere, so well run. I genuinely don’t know if I can put into words just how happy I am with the end result, but I’m going to try.

It has been around 8–10 years since I have properly had teeth. That’s a very long time to go without being able to eat normally, bite into food without thinking about it, or simply smile without immediately feeling self-conscious.

So for me, getting these dentures was never just about getting a set of teeth. It was about getting a huge part of my confidence and normal life back.

And somehow, they absolutely exceeded everything I was hoping for.

The attention to detail is incredible. The colour, shape and size of the teeth are perfect, the fit and feel are fantastic, and despite being a full set of dentures, they look unbelievably natural. Nothing looks artificial or overly perfect — they genuinely look like they belong to me.

I also decided to have two silver teeth added for a bit of personal customisation, and I absolutely LOVE them. They give me exactly that little bit of personality I wanted while still fitting perfectly with the natural look of everything else.

But the biggest compliment I can give them is what these teeth have actually given back to me.

I CAN EAT.

I CAN BITE.

And, most importantly, I can properly smile again.

For years I have been incredibly self-conscious about my teeth. I even grew my moustache out partly because it gave me something to hide behind and made me feel a little less exposed when I smiled.

Now?

I want to trim the bloody thing right back because, for the first time in years, I’m genuinely proud to show my teeth off.

That might sound like such a small thing to somebody else, but after nearly a decade of hiding my smile, I cannot explain how much that means to me.

I also can’t write this review without mentioning the people behind the work.

Emily was my technician and she was absolutely fantastic. Kind, patient, lovely to deal with and, most importantly, she genuinely listened to me. Everything I said about what I wanted was taken on board and incorporated into the final design.

I never felt like I was simply being given a standard set of dentures. Emily listened to what I wanted them to look and feel like, right down to the little details that would make them feel like mine — even embracing my slightly less conventional request for two silver teeth and absolutely nailing it!

And it wasn’t only Emily. Every single person I dealt with was genuinely lovely. Even down to Megan on reception, I was always made to feel welcome, comfortable and looked after.

You can have all the technical skill in the world, but combining that skill with people who genuinely care about the person sitting in front of them makes an enormous difference.

These aren’t just dentures to me.

They’ve given me back the ability to eat properly. They’ve given me confidence I haven’t had in years.

And they’ve given me my smile back.

So to Emily, Megan and the entire team — thank you, genuinely, for giving me something I haven’t been able to do confidently for nearly a decade:

Smile.

And believe me, I intend to do a LOT of it now.

I am very happy to recommend The Hive and Emily and Eleanor Pittard and all the staff. From the moment I arrived they were courteous,  friendly and went out of their way to put me at my ease. When finished, my new denture was a work of art. Naturally, it required some further visits for adjustments (which is normal), but Emily insisted that I return until I felt it was just right. Having dentures made can feel quite overwhelming, but the team (especially Emily and Ella) at The Hive Dental Clinic have been fantastic. They’ve been patient, understanding and meticulous throughout the process. I really appreciate how much care has gone into ensuring the dentures look natural and suit me. I was very pleased with the Hive Dental Lab, and the personalised sports mouthguard they made for me. It’s very comfortable and allows me to speak and breathe clearly.

I was so impressed by my visit to the Hive today. The staff are so pleasant, thoughtful and kind. I was treated by the Kady, their Hygiene Therapist who excelled in fully explaining the procedure she was undertaking and, along with her colleague, reassured me by checking all was well throughout my appointment. I found the feminine touch especially welcome with all the attention to detail that came with it.

Dental treatment is rarely anyone's favourite activity is it? But I can honestly say that Emily & Eleanor Pittard run an extremely professional and patient centred practice. I would highly recommend that you check The Hive out for yourself.
