My name is Angelica Santillan, I studied dentistry in Lima, Peru. I have been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. In 2003, I moved to Barcelona, Spain, where I validated my qualifications. I practiced in Barcelona and Girona as a general dentist for 7 years. As I married an English gentleman I moved to Bournemouth in 2010, since then I have been providing dental treatments for the NHS and private dental clinics.

In order to practice in Spain I took several exams by the University of Barcelona to recognise my Peruvian qualification which was accepted in the UK as it was pre-Brexit period.

My motivation to become a Dentist is in my blood. My father was a Dentist; my sister, too. It’s in my DNA. I really love to help people smile with confidence. I believe a wide smile gives your life back again and carries the pain away. So, that makes me feel really really happy.

I specialized in cosmetic dentistry, I provide dental treatments that include restorative, prosthetics, extractions, preventive care and treating oral diseases for all ages including children, adults and elderly.

Outside work, I love to travel. I am really interested in discovering new places, meeting new people and learning from other cultures. My passion is to look after my dogs. I really love dogs.

If I would need to start all over again, I would tell my youngest self: “Angelica, do not waste time. You can do it. Go ahead with your dreams and make people smile. You won’t make a mistake.”
