Around 41% of Britons would opt for teeth whitening treatment if they could, but they never know if they can. Have a chat with our friendly team about your smile!
Over the years the 5 most common reasons we have heard for why people are reluctant to get whitening are:
1
No, well at least not here at The Hive Dental Clinic. Beauty salons offering whitening without a qualified dental professional prescribing and applying treatment can often lead to tissue trauma and can actually be quite dangerous. This is due to a lack of knowledge in the oral cavity anatomy structure and the chemical composition of whitening agents, and they do not have access to safe dental whitening products and equipment. Dental professionals put their licence on the line to make sure they are providing safe treatment for all patients.
The whitening procedure used at the Hive Dental Clinic occurs as oxygen molecules from the whitening agent spread throughout the tooth which reacts with the discoloured molecules in your teeth. This results in the entire tooth being whitened, even if the whitening gel isn’t in contact with every part of the enamel. This safe, non-invasive, and effective whitening method has been created by dentists and helped millions of patients across the world have brighter, whiter smiles.
2
Well, it depends on what you define as expensive. An estimated 17.64 million people used over the counter whitening toothpaste in 2020. That’s a lot of money spent on toothpaste that has no long-lasting effects of whitening in comparison to professional whitening treatment provided in a dental clinic. The initial treatment is a one-off payment which is then maintained by keeping your custom trays safe in our bespoke tray cases (provided in your goodie bag at the end of treatment!) and by purchasing a single whitening syringe from us for only £25.00. This syringe is normally only purchased once a year after the initial whitening treatment.
We offer 0% finance plans for any treatment over £350.00. If this is something of interest, please feel free to call us to discuss this option further.
3
Sensitivity levels differ from person to person. That’s why here at the Hive Dental Clinic we treat every patient’s whitening journey as though they already have extremely sensitive teeth. That’s why we give you desensitizing gel, it provides rapid relief, can be used before and after whitening applications and is vegan, gluten-free and certified kosher. You will also be given a sensitive dental toothpaste to use throughout treatment to give you extra protection from sensitivity.
4
Some celebrities have taken white teeth to the next level – a blinding level. However, in a lot of celebrities’ dental treatment, they have often opted for the whiter the better and usually, this is obtained by having crowns or veneers on their teeth rather than just whitening alone. We want you in full control of your tooth whitening journey, so you can choose how white you want them. The procedure allows you to speed up and slow down the whitening process ensuring you’re getting the results you want.
5
You’re never too old. Teeth naturally appear darker with age due to the enamel thinning and displaying more of the ‘yellowish’ layer of the tooth called the dentine. This can accelerate faster in some people. When it comes to teeth, to look ‘healthy’ teeth should be as white as the whites of your eyes. Everyone’s eyes have different whites therefore we can whiten teeth to match your eyes, this is a subtle approach to whitening that tends to highlight a healthier-looking you, rather than outline that you have ‘had something done’ medically.
